Stratatics–develop better products, teams, and people, by doing things differently.

Two new programs for those who are trying to make their own money

Hi Reader,

This post is for people who are consulting, coaching, or freelancing or are thinking about it.

You likely don't know this, but I've been testing a new concept with my friend Greg for about 18 months. We're calling this concept Jump Ship.

Jump Ship is programming focused on helping people leave tech and go independent. After 18 months of research, testing, testing again, and more research, our first two programs are now live.

Restart is a four-hour workshop that helps you decide whether you want to work for yourself. It's like a Vision Board and a Business Plan decided to have a baby. You quickly examine what you are hoping to feel and embody while working for yourself, and analytically examine who your customers will be, what service you'll provide them, and the math to make that financially viable.

Positioning That Sells is a 3-day sprint for consultants, coaches, and freelancers to improve your selling story. In a small peer group, you'll audit, refine, and update your messaging. We believe you're an expert, that you're awesome, and it's really important that your potential customers know you're the best person to help them. In a world full of consultants, coaches, and freelancers, this sprint is laser-focused on helping you stand out.

Why this? Why now?

We believe too many companies have lost their way. They promised us everything; good money, flexibility, autonomy, and the ability to make meaningful things, but something else happened. They told us we were valuable, but only when it benefitted them. They asked us to be curious and innovative, but only when it matched their own beliefs.

We believe you deserve something better.

Your ability to make good money and have the services you need should not come at the cost of balance, flexibility, and meaning in your life.

As independent workers ourselves, we believe you should have the same access to knowledge, support, community, and know-how as the big companies. We believe that having this support increases the odds you can thrive while working for yourself.

Btw, anyone who joins one of these programs is invited to workshop other ideas too. As part of Jump Ship, we have weekly check-in calls on Fridays and bi-weekly 90-minute sessions where we explore and work through some of the challenges we have in common.

I'm looking forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,
Ryan

Stratatics–develop better products, teams, and people, by doing things differently.

Delivering great products and services comes from doing things differently. To do things differently, you must look at your work in a new light. Stratatics is a newsletter designed to help you do that. Each week, you’ll get a new idea to reimagine and deliver your best work. Highly relevant for design leaders and executives. And very useful for those who work alongside them.
